Blackops (Call of Duty 7) is listed as requiring either a GeForce GTS 240 or Radeon HD 3870 or higher.

What do you have at the moment, and what is your computer make and model?

Black Ops really doesn't require a high-end GPU, I'm sure you can find a suitable, moderately priced one. I recommend checking this site out http://www.systemreq...tslab.com/cyri/

do you have a laptop or desktop? If you have a desktop then there are a number of video cards that you can get, depending on budget. Top go to card for recommendations is the nvidia 460. It has recently dropped in price.

1: config file location
You'll find the config file in your Steam folder (by default "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam”) inside the “steamapps\common\call of duty black ops\players” folder

2: Video Card settings
Open the config_mp.cfg up in Wordpad and scroll down until you find the line:

* seta r_multiGpu “1”

Change the “1” to “0”.

IF, and only if you only have one video card. If you have multiple video cards (SLI mode), setting it to 0 will reduce performance.

3: CPU Settings
Directly underneath it you'll find:

* seta r_multithreaded_device “0”

Change the “0” to “1”.

Again, this is if, and only if you have a multi-core CPU.

4: Network
The main value you need to mess around with is cl_maxpackets, which you should try setting to “100” to see if it makes any difference.

well, the best I can recommend on your budget would be an ati 4870 or possibly an nvidia 9800 (if you can find it). Best bet would be to save your money. For about twice your budget you can get something much better, like an amd 5770 or nvidia 460. Mostly, at least in the usa, your budget keeps you in the same class of video card you have now.
