In the course of trying to deal with a Windows Updates problem a few weeks ago I uninstalled MS Office (which does not include Publisher). I realized a bit later that I had of course in doing this uninstalled Publisher 2003.

This afternoon I tried to reinstall Publisher 2003 from a CD and repeatedly got the message "Installation ended prematurely because of an error".

I have tried to find an answer to this on Google, but the few times I have found something that looks a bit like this I can't really understand the advice given.

(I am still unable to install the following Windows updates by the way:
KB2289187
KB2289163
KB2284695 - This one is a Publisher update.)

Please can anyone help?
