I have a very weird issue. A couple of weeks ago my Dell Latitude E5500 started to freeze at random intervals. Nothing would respond. The battery indicator would not even light up, if I plugged in the A/C adapter. I soon realized that if I had my scanner plugged in, the laptop would not freeze. With it not plugged in I would get around 20 mins of activity, then it would freeze. However with the scanner connected it will not freeze guaranteed. With a mouse plugged in, it will continue to freeze. So I have narrowed it down to powered usb devices prevent the computer from freezing. Anyone have any ideas what would causes this?

Thanks in advance!
