what ram to get?

Hi Better_Than_Justin, use the Crucial System scanner tool at the attached link, there is no need to purchase from there, write down the recommended Ram details and then shop around for the best deal.

Edit: Just a FYI, when upgrading Ram it is better to use matching pairs, so 2 X 2GB sticks would be best since your OS is 64bit, you could however use a stock 1GB stick + a 2GB stick upgrade as long as the specs are the same.
