Hi and welcome agamble9

Please run these two online scans. Make sure they are set to clean automatically:

TrendMicro's HouseCall
ActiveScan

You should try to delete any files that these scanners are unable to clean. Make sure you check the 'Disinfect automatically' option in Active scan, and check the “Auto Clean” option in TrendMicro, Then let us know if its working better and what the scans found.

Hi, sorry so long in replying but the scans took forever. Housecalls said no infections found and panda says

Incident Status Location

Adware:Adware/ValueAd No disinfected C:\WINDOWS\system32\F?nts
Virus:W32/Bagle.J.worm Disinfected C:\Documents and Settings\GAM MA\Application Data\MailWasherPro\Training archive - junk.mbox[Message.pif]

What do I do next? Aluria shows perfect keylogger this morning on it's normal scan. mailwasher is a mail previewing cleaning program, I haven't used it in a long time - perhaps even though I paid for it, I should uninstall it, and I've no idea what the F?onts is.

Thank you truly for your help. Amber Gamble :tazz:

Hi Amber your log appears to be clean.

Is the keylogger still being found ? Is it giving any information of the location of it ?

Lets do this,

Please download ewido security suite it is a trial version of the program.
  • Install ewido security suite
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
  • The program will prompt you to update click the OK button
  • The program will now go to the main screen
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update
  • Click on Start
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
Once the updates are installed do the following:
  • Click on scanner
  • Make sure the following boxes are checked before scanning:
    • Binder
    • Crypter
    • Archives
  • Click on Start Scan
  • Let the program scan the machine
While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report
  • Save the report to your desktop
Reboot your machine and post back the ewido .txt log file

Hi, thanks for your help, here is the ewido scan log. Perhaps you can tell me about the spyware program Aluria. Aluria has been pointing out that Perfect Keylogger was found in MSVCIRT.DLL in JASC ANIMATION SHOP. The keylogger then moved to a new zip download from JASC with the msvcrt.dll inside. Then moved to various .tmp files, and the to the hh.dat file. Is Aluria showing false positives? Aluria shows several different hits everyday. Thanks again for you help.
Amber
PS, ewido was the first scanner to point out the virus on my spare drive.

I would have to say this is the case,,,
Found some interesting reads Here

I would recommend the following,

Please use the following suggestion to help prevent reinfection

Download the following program, For keeping crap off your system to begin with
Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests. Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox. Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Download Spyware Blaster

Keep AD-Aware. and Spybot 1.3 handy, Check them for updates prior to running and run them weekly
Same with your Anti Virus,

For an added check run an online virus scan, you can use one of the 2 below,
TrendMicro's HouseCall
ActiveScan

Be sure and give the Temp folders a cleaning out now and then as well, Make sure after you clean your Temp files to empty out your Recycle bin as well.
For ease use the following program
Download and install Cleanup
Run "Cleanup" and when it has finished, Reboot

Remeber to Check Windows for updates

Probably a good time to create a new restore point See Here Name it clean or something like that,
