So my laptop an HP ProBook 4510s, has some kind of registry error where the system doesn't know which profile to choose, so it starts with a temporary profile. I called HP numerous times to sort out the problem and they told me to start from scratch. So here I am trying to reset everything without the windows 7 disc. Some suggestions are greatly appreciated! What do I do?

do you mean like backing up my files that I downloaded or do I have to back up the whole system?
because I dont really mind deleting all of my downloaded programs and files. Its nothing I cant get again.

If there is nothing on the HDD you want to keep then it doesn't matter.
Be sure you choose method 1 so that you do not require the OS disk.
