i created a incomming connection on my xp laptop at home. it has a always on static ip and is on my router's DMZ so there shouldn't be any port issues.

the issue i have is that every time i try to connect to this from outside my home network the computer will get to the verifying username and password phase and than time out. i have double and tripple checked the passwords and reset them multiple times on the server. somthing is preventing the vpn from finishing authentication.

i went into my router's properties and the vpn passthrough option is checked. and the ip fowarding is still set up properly
