That link I sent you the Realtek is the NEW driver - dated 2011,
Have you installed that one.
If you download the exe file I pointed you to it is a executable so it should guide you through the install.

Below the driver is the README PDF download. Have you read it and followed the procedure. If you do NOT follow the procedure there is every chance Windows will simply install the original driver again.

Yes, dl the new onw from Realtech, removed the first one first, the new one worked, but still had the loud static like pop. Any chance to get the old AC97 to work on this board? Have it dl waiting on your answer.

Still got the same pop as before installing the new driver. Something else I have just noticed that might be a key to this, the left speaker has faint hissing/static coming from it all the time, the other speaker is dead quite, but both work good when play sound.

I ran into an Intel issue with this board few days ago, don't know if causing my problem or unrelated, will try to locate in Intel archives again soon and post it.

As you are still having problems I suggest you go here
http://www.intel.com...42.htm#solution

and run the test to ensure you have the correct driver installed for the integrated sound.
If it is, then it has to be either a speaker problem or a problem with the mini jack socket.

Been there and done that, got good sound on right speaker only, think I'll buy a 5.1 soundcard and try to go around the one installed on mb.

Think this one is what I need. http://cgi.ebay.com/...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I do not think you have as your system says you have this
Intel® 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C7 SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audi
but you say you do not have the soundmax control
and run the test to ensure you have the correct driver installed for the integrated sound
what does the test say.

I am using the same HD fron the D845, thought I had completely deleted Soundmax, .....says driver is latest and working correctly. Sound will kinda come out of the dead L speaker if pulled out real slow and caught between notches, probably picks up right speaker audio.

Going to buy add on soundcard and see if that will fix it, soon as fiq out which one is compatible, all I want is a 2 speaker stereo desktop that works.
