hi,

Basically my laptops been playing around (freezing a lot, shutting down and not wanting to turn back on) but also having spells of seemingly working fine. This is mainly after i accidentally left it without anti-virus for a day (though the AVG i had before didnt seem to work too well. Ive asked some people i know and some suggest getting the discs from the manufacturer and completely wiping the computer and starting again, and this makes sense to me, but then some say they dont see the point :S. Im perfectly willing to do it, but dont see the point if it will have no effect. so basically, should i bother or not? and any idea how much the cd's will be?
I have a Compaq Presario CQ61
Thankyou very much for any help, greatly appreciated, Scott
