Hello,

My desktop was working fine but a member of this site kindly identified that it had a virus, I chose to
format and reinstall Windows XP home but it wenrt wrong as it turned out to be an update disc.

So I bought a new full version of Windows XP and that has installed fine.
Now I cannot connect to the internet.

I have a wired Netgear ASDL modem router DG834 and when I plugged it into this laptop it worked straight away, it did not ask
for the installation CD or any information.

I have inserted the installation CD and it goes so far through the process but does not connect, all 3 lights on the modem
are lit as they should be.

On the desktop I have a 10/100Mbps ethernet card and it says the drivers are installed correctly.

I use BT broadband.

Can anyone please help me get connected?

You can close this thread now.

It was not accepting the driver for my Ethernet card but I have sorted it out now.
