Have a Gateway GT5404 w/ Windows Vista and trying to help a friend out. After pushing the power button, it makes 3 audible beeps and that's it. Nothing on the screen no nothing. Is this dead or what! Thanks...

This is not really a Malware issue I am thinking...Anyway from what you have posted it may be a possible Memory Module(Random Access Memory) related issue with your friend's machine. You could physically check to ensure the module(s) are seated correctly in the actual Mother-Board and or if multiple installed remove one at a time to see if one has failed and if the machine boots up that is the culprit. However before actually doing so do, observe Anti-Static procedure as a precaution.
