Trying to add a printer on a remote computer. (Windows 7)

  • start > run > \\compName
  • Login using administrator credentials.
  • Now I click "View remote printers" > "Add a printer"
  • Error: "You do not have sufficient rights to perform this operation."

I went ahead and disabled the Windows Firewall & UAC on the remote computer to see if it was causing a problem, but still get this message. I'm thinking a service needs to be started on the remote computer, but just short of reading them all, I see nothing relevant.

Been googling the issue, but it seems most people receive this error when just adding the printer locally because of UAC.

Any ideas??
