I just reinstalled XP and when I restarted the machine I get an "Installation in progress" that cannot be stopped. I get the following message after trying to stop it:

"An installation package for the product "Status" cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package 'status.msi".

Is there a way to stop this?

Regards

Is the OS installation disk a Genuine Microsoft Installation Disk or a Recovery Disk supplied by a manufacturer like Dell or Gateway? If so what is the make and model of your system?
Is it a downloaded copy or a burned copy?
