Hi, its me again but this time with my daughters laptop.
She has a Samsung NP-R720 which was in the process of updating, as it was low on power she plugged it in but unfortunately the power went and the laptop shut down during installing updates.

Now when its switched on it will start to install but hangs on

Error C0000034 applying update operation 251 of 75706 ($$_sy...)

I tried running the repair disk but this failed to fix the problem but did give me this if it helps....

Unspecified changes to system configuration might have caused the problem.
Repair action: system files integrity check and repair
Result failed error code = oxa


Is it possible to fix this as her windows 7 is what came installed and she has no disk.

This is an inherent issue with the automatic updates on shutdown portion of Windows Vista and 7. Particularly if you turn the system off (deliberately or otherwise) halfway through an update on shutdown.

This post on the Microsoft forum may be of interest. Ignore the fact it talks about SP1, the principle is the same:
