i was just wonder how do i check if my computer has a sound card or what i have speakers they r plugged in still dont work. Thanks for ur help and is driver update ok to download.Hotmamamag

Look in Device Manager, the sound adapter will be listed in there. If there is an error symbol next to "Audio Device" it means either it's driver is not installed, it's installed but corrupted, or the wrong sound driver has been installed.

For Windows XP: Control Panel (Classic view) >> System >> Hardware tab >> Device Manager

Installing a sound driver is fine providing you get it from the right place (the PC manufacturer's website is the best choice, otherwise from the motherboard manufacturer's website if the PC has no brand name).
