As the title states, I am having problems with Vista's Volume Mixer. Specifically with Google Chrome. After every restart of Chrome, the Volume Mixer setting shoots it back up to full volume, despite my repeated efforts to keep it down.

I'm thinking this has something to do with a corrupted registry file that is not allowing Vista to save Google Chrome's Volume Mixer setting? It's very annoying, and I'm too loyal to switch to another browser.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

This is the normal Volume Mixer setting for Chrome.

This is what happens every time I restart Chrome; the Volume Mixer setting resets it to maximum volume. Very irritating.

I understand this was fixed in google chrome version
9.0.597 2011-02-03 534.13 2.5.9.6

This is the latest, other then a beta.
10.0.648 2011-03-11 534.16 3.0.12.18

Worth a try, if you have earlier than 9. 0. 597

I do not use Google Chrome, I do not like it. However that is only my personal opinion.
BUT
you may find this as disturbing as I did.
