So, the deal is I don't own a Mac, however, I have a friend who does. A white macbook.

She is semi-technologically challenged, however, due to my lack of knowledge of Mac Systems, I can't really comment on as to how to fix the problem.

I was able to get a strong analysis of the problem, so here goes:

Background info:
White Macbook was purchased online in August (2010) (new).
(yea, that's about it..)

The problem:
"its happened the past few months obviously far apart, like weeks, remember i bought this in august online"

Occurs when the macbook freezes (probably because of overheating?)

Once the macbook freezes, the following message pops up:

"You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, then press the Power button again."

(looks like this:

)

"well after i followed the instructions when the computer turned on and everything and it went normal but the msg i sent you in your inbox on fb pops up and it says like send report to apple so they can fix this etc"

The message that I received is:

And I guess it happens again when the macbook freezes.

I will try and get through with time machine, but no guarantee.

Can anyone shed some light as to what the problem is?

Thanks again,

Blue

Hi mate, sorry for the delay.

I am not familiar with Macs at all but it sounds like potentially a warranty issue. I would take it back to the Apple store and ask them about it.

Cheers

Good grief, is that it?
No it isnt a warrenty issue, its most likely a software issue....
Suggest you go on google and type in "You need to restart your computer" for a litle more detailed advise....
