Right, I seem to be having pretty much the same problem as everyone else with the Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger. I've followed the instructions on the instructions page, and it's got rid of some stuff, but still Dr Watson makes the computer crash.

Here's the HijackThis log.
Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers

Griff

Hi Griff10,

I found one possible item that could be causing this.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [] C:\WINDOWS\Options\OEMReset.exe /Audit

Reboot and let me know if you notice any pattern in the crashes.

Also when it happens again:
Go to c:\Windows\system32 there you will find two icons

Now double click on drwatson.exe. In the bottom tray bar on your screen you will see drwatson click on that icon this will give a error message copy the information down and post this back to me.

Now double click on drwtsn32.exe and again copy the information and post this also

Hi, thanks for the reply

I've done as you suggested re: HJT, but I'm not sure whether or not it's worked. I thought it might have gone away a few days ago, but then it came up as I was trying to start a video this morning, yet I've played many videos beforehand without the error message.
Any other suggestions?

Cheers

If it freezes up with videos or even when you open a folder with videofiles in explorer, this often means a codec has been installed that doesn't work well with WMP.

That is why I asked for a pattern.
We will have to wait untill it happens again. :tazz:
Once you reply here I will be emailed, so no worries if it takes a while.
Hopefully I guessed right with the empty startup-entry and it won't bother you again.
