I just recently fresh-installed w7 on a new ssd I just got in. After the installation, I noticed it wouldn't connect me to the internet to download drivers. It has the red x, now occasionally it will go to the swirly blue thing to say its aquiring network address, but that only does it for 2 or so seconds, the right back to the red x. It just keeps doing this.

After installing the MB drivers from the CD I had, I noticed that I still could not connect. I have no idea what to do. The wire is fine, it was working before this and I just double checked by plugging it into my laptop. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Edit

When I go under hardware > devices and printers, under where it will say Nick-PC, it has the yellow ! on it. So I click that, and it says ethernet controller yellow !. It says manufactuer unknow, location PCI bus 8, device 2, function 0
The drivers for this device are not installed. (code 28)

It is fixed. My dad did something to it while I was at work to make it connect, not exactly sure what it was, but I now have connection!
