Software to convert cassettes to digital files

What software would you recommend to convert my large collection of cassette tapes and LP's to digital so that I can listen to them on an iplayer?

Computer is a Dell running windows 7

Ehow: conversion cassete to digital

basicaly this tutorial takes the output sound from the cassete player to the microphone jack (inout)
on your computer and record using audacity or whatever software you prefer
