Hi...

I've got a compaq presario CQ61 laptop. About a month ago it was over heating, fan was really loud, and it was randomly crashing so I took it apart to clean out the fan. While I was taking it apart I broke the little hinged clip on the keyboard connector on the motherboard. I managed to patch it up but yesterday the keyboard wasn't working correctly, one of the page scroll buttons appeared to be constantly on, using the T or 6 key would bring up "t6v" and other strange inputs with other keys.

I think the ribbon cable has moved a lttle inside the connector and messed the whole thing up, but is it possible that the motherboard is messed up totally or is there something that I can do to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi snue :D
Without knowing exactly what has broken it is hard to advise you conclusively, if the keyboard is beyond repair http://www.amazon.co...d/dp/B004JO16PQ or a cheaper option if you only use the laptop at home http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/B0002JD34Y
