New My Book 3.0 when attached to my laptop (using Win7)the drive lights up, and I can feel the drive spin. It does not show up in Disk Management at all. It is a USB 3.0, but says it can be connected to a USB 2.0 port. I have tried several different ports. I have an older My Book that works fine.

If you get the same results when attaching it to at least one other computer, I'd return it as defective. (Swap it out for one that works).

Same results with other computer. After trying several different cables, I came up with one that worked - a USB 2.0 Micro cable. Thanks for trying to help.
