I have been having problems with my computer for sometime now. Random "Blue Screen Of Death" will immediately be the first thing to appear when I turn my laptop on, but not all the time (just randomly). I have been having problems with my internet as well - Only google loads but can't visit links. Computer freezes while online and also lags in responding.

In the past I have tried re-formatting my computer and erasing everything and it seems the problems did not go away with help from the HP techs and I have used a number of different anti-virus software in safe-mode and in regular mode. Twice when running AVG my computer crashed.

I recently downloaded Spybot Search & Destroy and encountered 33 problems on first run-through, but only 30 problems were fixed (3 could not be removed due to already running/in use). Today I booted in safe mode and re-ran Spybot and encountered 8 problems, 3 of which I'm pretty sure were the ones that could not be removed in regular mode.

As mentioned I am currently running AVG Free Edition Anti-virus but would like to know if this is the best free anti-virus software or if anyone would recommend something else. My friend uses Avira.
