My window event sounds quit working about a month ago and I don't know how to fix the problem. I get sounds from my media player, from chat rooms (whisper notifications, new member arrivals, kicks, etc), so I know it's not my sound card. I also get sounds from any games I play. The sounds that don't work are MSN messenger, Windows start up, Windows shut down, minimize/maximize windows, error alerts etc. Does anyone know how to fix this? I ran Spy Sweeper today (just purchased), in case it was something like that causing these to stop. I MISS MY SOUNDS!!! ;)

I have tried checking for problems in Sounds and Audio Devices, and they work fine in there. I've made sure nothing is muted...besides I get other sounds...and I can't find anyplace online that addresses this problem. Please help me?! :tazz:

This is a second posting of this problem. My next step is to reinstall my O/S if nobody has a solution that works. Please let me know before tomorrow (6/09/05) if you do have a fix, before I go to the trouble of reinstalling XP!

Thanks,

IrishEyes
