Ignoring the fact that the BenQ has HDMI, which is a better bet? (Not much in the price...)

Hanns.G - http://www.play.com/...7|prd:18632967#
BenQ - http://www.cclonline...id=9h.l3alb.qbe

Standard use will be normal web browsing and word processing etc., CAD, Watching films, and occasional gaming

EDIT: Found a more comprehensive spec list and comparison here, http://www.all-monit...vs_benq_g2420hd

They seem very similar. The Hanns has built in speakers - not sure you need them. If me, I would go with the HDMI as that has the potential to support me further into the future. Note the digital signal in DVI and HDMI is exactly the same, so that is not an issue.

Well some of the specs mean very little to me, so unless there is a vast difference between the quality of the two brands, or somethign I've missed, the only difference really is that the BenQ has HDMI and looks nicer... I use two of the non-HDMI version of the BenQ at work and must admit they are very nice monitors.
