hi:
have been dealing with a variety of recurring problems recently, awm226, msole32, ole32vbs, perfcii, shnlog, wldr, popuper, & the like ..
also .. msmsgs.exe ..

05/27/05 pm, w8673492.exe & a5281300.so appeared,
& my desktop switched to a "black screen" with the message
"warning!
your computer is infected!"

following other guidance here (for 1st time!) for similar hijacks, have run .. hijackthis, killbox, cleanup, trojanhunter .. tp clean system (already previously running blackice, norton, adaware, spybot s&d) ..

now am unable to click for "display properties" .. which only now shows tabs for "screeen saver" & "settings" .. all the other tabs are gone, including "wallpaper" .. so still have the "black screen & infested message" ..

also, after deleting msmsgs from windows/system32 .. now on bootup, win IM auto starts up (do not use any IM or outlook) .. unable to use "start/programs" to disable IM on startup, as can't find IM on program folders/list ..

in IE, instead of just typing "yahoo.com", presently need to type in "http://www.yahoo.com" .. so some registry keys must still be corrupted, or the resets were corrupted" ..

below is hijackthis log, which have tried to cleanup, so don't know what else to do at this point .. help!

p.s. also unable to fix/remove this item .. using either hijackthis or killbox2 ..
