Suspected virus that appeared to be scanning files. The message claimed that I was running an unregistered version of a anti-virus program and recommended downloading full version. It showed a listing of corrupted files. I noticed the McAfee was not operating in the tray. I was not able to get back to the Internet Explorer Homepage. I turned off the computer and restarted in safe mode with networking. Changed search engine to google chrome and the error message appeared to be gone. Enabled McAfee to scan and it detected a trojan virus and it was deleted. After reading many forums on this issue, I am curious if the virus is completely gone.
