I was ready to give up, but it was worth the wait - and I learned a lot. Thank very much Bill.
One last question: Is it a good idea to run rkill before running a Malwarebytes scan?

Thanks

Hello raftini,
RKill is designed specifically to disable rogue processes so has no purpose when running a normal MalwareBytes scan You should right click on RKill and select delete.

Thanks
Bill
