So here is the issue:

I live off campus but I sometimes use my macbook on campus for the free wifi. One night I used a cat cable to plug into my university's internet and a screen came up asking to authenticate or validate my laptop. I didn't want to, so I unplugged the cat cable and just got online using the wifi, like I usually do. Now when I try to use Google Scholar, the link automatically redirects my school's Library page saying "Access Restricted"....this is weird because this never happened before; I could use Google Scholar anywhere anytime.

Can someone help me to figure this out and stop it from happening?

I deleted cookies, cleared cache, revoked certificates but it still happens.

I'm on a macbook os x 10.6 and using firefox 3.6

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

I believe the reason your school is restricting access to the internet, is because you didn't authenticate/validate your laptop with them.
It's annoying, but it's their campus, and there's probably nothing that can be done. Sorry.

However, it could be something else. Do other pages give you the same error? Does this occur off campus?

I have to agree if the issue is only the scholar site then it would seem to be the school needs to take a look at your system setup.
If going to other sites have the same issue then I would say a possible hidden infection may be the cause.
Can you clarify if it is just the school site or all sites and then we can direct you accordingly. :)
