Hi there

I know I have a number of viruses/worms etc. on my system as I ran a Symtanec scan from CD. However, my anti-virus programme now no longer works at all when I try to click on the icons (nothing happens), so I uninstalled it. When I then tried to re-install I couldn't, as I don't think that all the programme files were completely removed when I uninstalled.

I then tried to remove the programmes via "Add/Remove Programmes" but whenever I click on ANY control panel icon I get an error message saying "rundll.exe is not a valid Win32 application".

Thinking this could be rectified if I ran some of the AV scans, Hijackthis (for help in this forum) or Spyware removers etc (I definitely have spyware problems), I tried to download relevant things through IE6 (including rundll.exe in case I had accidentally deleted). However, I cannot download ANYTHING from the internet as I get a message saying "your security settings do not allow you to download".

I then tried to change my security settings on IE but the settings in "Internet" from "Internet Options/Security" are greyed out so I can't change them!

I thought that if I got a CD_ROM with IE6 on it I may be able to reinstall to see if that made any difference, but now my system no longer recognises my CD-ROM drive, and it has disappeared from everywhere (eg My Computer, all dropdown menus etc)...

Any help on any of these problems would be very very very gratefully received.

Thanks
