Hey geeks I installed windows 7 on my cousins computer yesterday, everything seemed to install perfect.
When I left his house he called me saying the cd drive would keep opening everytime he closed it? Does anyone have a solution or idea of what might be causing this.

Hp Pavillion a6110n

Please any ideas would be helpful.

The drive button may be stuck or have a dirty or loose contact, cleaning and a quick inspection may sort this.
1st you could try uninstalling the drive in the device manager and then reboot the PC and use the Found New Hardware Wizard to install the drive and see if that helps.

If the drive is not mechanically damaged yes.

By reboot you mean restart right?

That is correct.

I will be more than happy to assist you but can you first clarify what you wish to delete!
Both the CD drive and Windows 7 can be uninstalled but technically speaking neither can be deleted effectively.
