I have a HP533w with a Trigem GL VE 2002052 motherboard. I upped the memory to 2gb with no problem. When I also tried to install a P4 2.4 ghz the machine would turn on but just sit there, no POST. Does anyone know if there's a switch or something in the BIOS that needs to be set first for this to work or is the replacement processor bad.

Motherboard Specs - http://h10025.www1.h...en&dlc=en&cc=us

Thanks!

Hi MapDaddy :D
Processors compatible with your MB P4 and Celeron (Willamette, Northwood)
Comprehensive list of P4 processors http://en.wikipedia....microprocessors
If your processor is a Prescott version of the P4 it will not work, also note the various socket types 478, 775 etc.
Do you know what type of CPU it is that you are attempting to fit and that it was previously working ok!
