hi im running a compaq presario something or other, the specs are a little hazy seeing as its an 11 year old pc, but it was working perfectly fine one day, after running it for about 15 hours one day i turned it off, the next day i switch it back on to find the dreaded flashing cursor, as it is compaq i am unable to get into the bios menu (i think) but i have tried 2 different CPUs, and countless other things i can think of to get it running again, i have reinstalled, to find it has the same effect, i have run the repair console with fixmbr and fixboot to no effect, pretty much at wits end, if any of you can help and actually get this old timer running again i will be forever indebted to you, ill try to give answer your trobleshooting questions to the best of my knowledge, thanks.
