visual studio just in time debugger comes with this error "A unhandled win32 exception occured in svchost.exe". My sound car is not working(i think its due to this issue.). any solution for this problem other than formatting the system.

do you have the driver cd that came with your sound card...if so reinstall the drivers
if not what is the make and model of the sound card...you can use the device manager to see what it is if you don't know

hi happy rock

i have reinstalled the drivers. no use. sound card is "Realtek AC97". one more thing my system sounds are working. i am not able to play any music. I am attaching the screen shot of device manager.

borrow a set of headphones if you don't have one ...plug it into the lite green jack on the sound card...
by the way I don't think you have a PCI sound card ..just the on the motherboard built in sound...

did your sound go away just after you installed something or maybe updated something including windows
if so try restoring to a date prior to the issue...

what is the make and model of your computer...

yeah my PC dosent have a separate sound card. its inbuilt into the mother board. even i tried with the head phones also. its of no use. before it used to work fine afetr installing one software system started behaving diffrently.

go here and download Everest Home Edition 1.51...launch it and click on the + beside motherboard...click on chipset...get a screenshot and post it


NOTE... for those of you that have other newer versions of EVEREST HOME ...I highly recommend you get version 1.51
it has a software section that include what versions of the software you have installed and all the updates/patches you have installed that the newer versions of Everest do not have...

unfortunately that series of mobo's caused me the most problems ever...
I love ASUS but the K8N was not their best work...I think the technical term for that series of boards is dooty
