Are you comfortable typing in commands at a command-prompt?

I want to know how I need to phrase my instructions.
Especially where there need to be spaces between characters.

Are you familiar with DOS-commands?

We need to find out what went wrong.

When you are at this prompt:

C:\WINDOWS >

Type: DIR system32\drivers\volsnap*

What files are listed?

Type: DIR ..\SP3\volsnap*

What files are listed?

We'll try copying the file again

Type: COPY C:\SP3\volsnap.sys C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\

Spaces are between PY and C: and also between ys and C:

Was the file copied?

Let's take a look at that fix.bat file

Type: TYPE ..\fix.bat

(There is a space between E and .. (the double dots)

Compare the result with the content I asked you to copy paste in post #73 to create the fix.bat file.

Are they exactly the same?

Yes, the information is exactly the same. One item - perhaps there is an extra blank line below the information (based on the spacing from other commands entered earlier) - it looks like there may be one - but the printed info is exactly the same.

Thank you

Please bear with me.

Now we'll copyit differently

Type: COPY C:\SP3\volsnap.sys C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\
(There is a space between PY and C: and also between ys and C: )

Was the file copied?

If it was, verify with the following command.

Type: DIR C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\volsnap*
(There is a space between IR and C:)

Was the file listed?
