Hi

Got a laptop here running XP Pro 32 bit that is having an issue with something. The CPU is running at 100% the entire time. It is not the system idle process. I have checked that. It is the system process.

There are a lot of other threads open that say it could be viruses, however this cannot be true with this laptop, as it does this off a fresh install. No drivers, no apps and no network connection. The CPU still runs at 100%.

Help would be much appreciated.

Did you run diags on the RAM and hard drive yet?

(If the hardware is failing, software isn't going to fix it).
