I'm looking to build a new PC to run my Solidworks 2011 program on. Here is a list of what I'm looking at.

Please give me feedback if you see any problems or could suggest something different.

ASUS P8P67 Deluxe Motherboard
Intel I7-2600K Processor
PC Power + Cooling PPCS760 power supply

I can't decide which video card
Quadro 2000 or ATI Firepro V5800

Cool Master Hyper 212 CPU cooler
Windows Pro 7 64 bit
Corsair XMS3 12 GB Ram
WD 450 GB Velociraptor Hard Drive
Plextor PXL890SA DVD drive
Nippon external Floppy drive

I can't decide which video card
Quadro 2000 or ATI Firepro V5800

Not surprised as there is not a lot of information about workstation GFX out there. from reading it appears the 2000 & V5800 are considered good for entry level cards with the 2000 better for performance because of drivers but the V5800 better for value, so you still end up with having to take a stab in the dark for your choice.

You have not listed a case. As the video card will run quite hot it is important to have a case with good, and controllable airflow. Have you looked at any yet?

I did read the tomshardware forum about the comparison before I posted the request for advice. It is a good read but I still couldn't make up my mind after reading it. I will most likely get the V5800.

I'm looking at the Rosewill Gear X3 case with the extra fans.

Roswill is OK providing the video card is not large otherwise you have to remove the HDD cage.

I've been on holiday but I have started to aquire some of the needed components for this build. I'm waiting for quotes on some of the other items. Sorry for the delay in reply.

If you have not ordered the Mobo yet, do NOT, as there has been a major update from the P67 platform to the Z68.
The Socket is a modified 1155, backward compatible, so the SB 2500K will still fit.
The new Z68 Mobos rectify that issue of having to choose between H67 and P67 for integrated graphics or overclouding.
You now have access to all features of whichever SB CPU you install. There are also new features on the chipset.

You will only have to select an alternative Motherboard for your build.
