I recently had what appears to be a horrible virus that eventually precluded me from even getting into the computer--it would not accept my passkey. Anyway, I reninstalled windows Vista and Office 2010. The reinstalls created a windowsold file but I lost my contacts. Is there anywhere where I can get to the old contact list since when I installed the new office software, the contact list and calendar were empty. Thanks.

Try searching for a file named "Outlook.pst" in the Windows.old folder
If it exists, import it into Outlook by opening Outlook and clicking File >> Import & Export >> Import from a PST file

In future we advise you to keep a backup of your Outlook data on a different drive or on CD, especially as it's very easy to do with Outlook.
Just open Outlook, click File >> Import & Export >> Export to a file >> PST file.
