Well, after a few problems with Ubuntu, I thought it would be good to go back to a Windows OS

I found my old XP disc and just booted my PC

First I had problems with wireless connection, so I plugged an Ethernet cable and downloaded drivers for it with Windows Update

But after I tried to open Blender (I sometimes model as an hobby) and saw that it wasn't working at all - the UI and the preview screen didn't even exist or flashed

Same happened for some Java applications too

I didn't remember my laptop specs correctly but tried to download embedded card drivers and still didn't help

I tried to do a check for graphics card in Intel's website, and it didn't show anything - just a blank list

When I tried to check Add Hardware at Control Panel, I didn't see anything graphics related except Video Codecs (not sure if graphics related)

The thing is that I am afraid that I may need to go back to a Linux OS or trash this laptop

As long as I remember, the graphics card was an integrated one and no luck for sound also

What can I do to get my video and sound drivers working without destroying it?

OK found it HERE
You will have to go through and make sure you find the XP drivers or you can click on the Driver type drop down menu and select the type of driver you want. That should narrow your search alot.

I'm currently downloading Display, Sound and Acoustic silencer (which I totally need)

I'm unsure about doing the BIOS update though, can it effect me in a bad way?

I would not suggest it.

Did you reformat and maybe make a fresh partition? I would use the recovery console in XP and rewrite my master boot record, just in case there is a glitch somewhere between ubuntu and XP. I've never had to trash a HDD for a software problem---knock-on-wood...

Are you still having problems with your issue?
It has been 8 days since your last response and I was wondering if the issue has been resolved?
If so can you explain how it was resolved so others may be able to fix it if they have the same issue.
If not please let us know and we can continue with helping you to resolve the issue.

Sorry, I've been away from my laptop for some time

I downloaded audio, wireless and graphics drivers and problems are fully fixed except for the new one;

(This is not due to driver installing)

I'm not on my laptop also, so I can't be able to attempt for solutions posted there until Saturday
