Can you download "Angry Birds" to a laptop?

I was hoping to purchase the game Angry Birds to my laptop which has Windows 7. when I googled the game, there are several different places to download it, some for a fee of $4.99, some say they are free. I always hesitate to download something from the internet unless I know it is a trusted site.
So could anyone tell me more about this, or provide a link they recommend?
