I don't know if I'm in the correct forum?

I need motherboard chipset driver for 82845. I can't seem to find it.

Posted Image

I have tried a number of drivers including both files on this page:

http://downloadcente...y&lang=eng#help

I have no Unknown icons in Device Manager.
The BIOS is currently running with IDE for the hard drive.
If I change it to SATA which it should be I get a BSOD 0x7b

I'm running XP Pro sp2

Please help me resolve this driver problem.

Thank you,

Does your Device Manager show anything with a yellow exclamation mark or a red X?
If not what issue are you having that a driver is needed?
To help identify this issue please do the following.

Please Run the PCPitstop.com OverDrive Full Tests

Here's how:

You must use your Internet Explorer for this procedure. (doesn't work so well in Firefox or others). If your machine is running Vista or Windows 7, you must Select IE to “Run as Administrator”. After completing PCPitstop OverDrive you can close your IE browser and re-open it Normally so that you are no longer running as administrator.

Go to: http://www.pcpitstop.com
Click on "Free Computer Check-up" listed below PC Pitstop OverDrive
In the User Login - Click on "Sign up FREE!"
You'll need to submit a valid email address and create your own password, then click - Create Account(button)

Now enter your email address and password to Log in, Select - Scan this system Now!(button)
You will then be asked to download an ActiveX component and allow it to install.
It is safe and does not compromise your privacy.
Follow the on-screen prompts to install the ActiveX and to allow the Full Tests to be run on your machine.

The Full Tests take about 2 1/2 - 3 minutes on most machines.
When complete, a Results - Summary - Recommended Fixes will be displayed.

Please post the URL internet address, from your Results, back here into this Topic Thread so that we can review the configuration and present performance levels of your machine.

Note: During the graphics 2D and graphics 3D testing, your screen will display some rapidly moving objects.
If you are sensitive to visual flashing, it may cause dizziness. Therefore, look away from the screen during that portion of the testing.

After reviewing the results we will be more informed and may be able to provide better recommendations for you to work towards improving your machine's performance.

While PCPitstop does offer a variety of Paid Products, the PCPitstop OverDrive testing is FREE. Please ignore the references to Paid Products. We prefer to provide manual solution instructions that you can apply directly to your machine.

Best Regards

The URL for the test is at:

Thank you for looking at it.

OK this is going to be slow going. Looking at the summary page it looks like you have about 6 issues going on. So lets start with the easiest of those.
Update your Service Pack for your OS.
You need to go to Windows Update and make sure you get all critical updates first.

I have updated all critical updates for sp2. I can't put sp3 on because I have one program that won't run in sp3.

OK have you checked optional updates also?
That is where you should see the hardware driver for the Sound, and game controller.

AMYUNI Technologies - Printers - Amyuni Document Converter 300

What I need is the drivers for Intel 82845 I/O controller and Intel 82801 controller

Thanks,

This would be part of the mobo chipset driver.
Do you know what make and model your mobo is?

Thanks for the reply...

Those were the first set of drivers I tried.

I tried applying those in regular mode and in safe mode.

Unknown Device Identifier still show them as Unknown device.

Do you know how to remove the old chip set drivers so maybe these drivers will load?

I tried deleting both secondary IDE channels
Then both primary IDE channels
Then both storage controllers
Then rebooting and changing the BIOS to AHCI

It didn't work.

Thanks,

All the entries with yellow exclamation marks just right click on them and uninstall. Reboot and see if they will install correctly then.
