Game Saves

Hi, just got my computer back from being repaired, new motherboard and new graphics card, re-installed my games and put the game saves back on, some games were ok, Doom 3 the saves are there and I can continue where I left off before the repairs, but Tomb Raider Underworld, I have put the saves in the right place, but the slots in the menus are empty, so I have to start again. Any advice about putting saves back on the computer, and why won't Tomb Raider let me play from where I left off. Thanks for any help.
