Welcome to Geeks2Go!

Just to get things straight, do you mean the Kaspersky CD isn't working, or your CD-ROM drive isn't working?
If it's the Kaspersky CD that doesn't work, I'm afraid we can't help with that other than to advise you to check that the surface of it is clean.

If the CD is heavily scratched, that would make it impossible for the drive to read it. It's pretty much useless in that case as deep scratches will have damaged the data that's on it.

Reading either cd or dvd and not the other

Hi, thanks for the reply, actually the CD-ROM drive isn't working.
I tried the other samples CDs with data and it cannot read, im sure the CD-ROM is not working.
The CD for Kaspersky is new I just bought it last week.
Any other way to install the Kaspersky anti virus?
Thanks

Sounds like a new cd\dvd drive is needed.
According to Kaspersky you can buy the install online. i would suggest contacting them and seeing you have purchased it if they would allow you to download the file and install it using your retail purchased lic.

Look here, choose your version, download the installer and install it.
You should be able to input an activation key. Just remember to pick the right version (e.g. download Internet Security if you have a KIS key, download Antivirus if you have a KAV key)
