HD Cable Connectors

I have two HD cables, each 6 feet long, to connect my PC to my HDTV. What is the name for the piece that connects the two cables to give me the 12 feet I need and where can I get it?

Can you be a little more specific as to the type of cable you are using? Is it DVI, HDMI, VGA, etc? Typically they are called couplers, or gender changers.
