Thanks again ... will run the above tools and do as advised, strangely i just got a blue screen with a 0x4 error so not sure about that >.<

That is usually related to a driver... Did the BSOD mention one ?

no It did not mention a driver, i was however un-installing the hp printer drivers that were installed as they were messing about before and i wanted to get them re-installed, i am also trying to free up some HD space as its very low atm, (to many pictures downloaded by my mother as its her pc)

after rebooting i got the crash error report from microsoft and it said it was Ethernet networking so i will check that out

That may be it as the main relation is to the inf file for the driver

If it reoccurs then let me know

OK clean up done, I gone out and got a new 500G hd to shove in there so just need to ghost it over but apart from that everything is good now :) Thank you again
