:tazz: ;) OK, so I get this error message when trying to read my newsgroups:
Configuration:
Account: text-east.newsfeeds.com
Server: text-east.newsfeeds.com
User name: xxxxxxxxx
Protocol: NNTP
Port: 7500
Secure(SSL): 0
Code: 800ccc0f

I contact my newserver and they tell me to delete the account and make a new one. Only problem is that now I can't download a list of newsgroups because I get this error!

PLEASE help me fix this contraption! I am lost without my newsgroups.

Hi there, probably no one knows of any suggestions to it. Others might be looking for answers like you also. I did a search and guess who's post popped up? LOL. Your post is #1 in Google if you do a search for the error message. That may be one reason why you have 200 views without a reply.

I can't believe no one has this problem solved.

OK, from what I can see it might be a server problem.

If that's not the case, then try this. This only applies if you have Norton Antivirus:

Error 0x800ccc0f, I tried all sorts of things, but this worked for me.
1. pull up norton / symantec
2 options
3 anti virues
4 e mail
5 uncheck incomming & outgoing boxes
6 close norton / symantec
7 clean out e mail (error msg should be gone)
8 recheck incoming & outgoing bpxes

Well....thanks for the try, but I don't have Norton's....I guess I will just have to continue restarting my computer when this happens....at least it seems to work so far.

OK, make sure your antivirus program has the email scanning (if it has one) option turned off (at least for now). I want to see if that could be causing the problem.

How about the firewall? Is it allowing OE6 to the internet?

Yeah, the firewall allows it to go....cause most of the time it works ok. It seems to be sporadic with NO cause that I can see. For now it is acting nicely, so I guess it is a non-problem for now.
