I think what your really need now to boost the speed dramatically would be some extra RAM

Pop along to Crucial and run the system scanner- this will let you know how much extra RAM your system can take, what type and a rough cost

nobilis...its not on the lis!!!! this machine was built by an ex boyfriend of a niece..he owns a comp shop

The following is a list of what our scan was able to detect:
System Manufacturer: Equus Computer Systems
System Model: Nobilis
Motherboard Manufacturer: Uniwill
Motherboard Model: 255KI / 259KI Series

The memory type for that mother board is SODIMM DDR333

I did find some here but it is a bit antiquated and appears to be a laptop motherboard

i was going to ask about adding some memory...guess that is the next step. never took a laptop apart before...only towers...is it a task that i'll be able to do easily? i spent 30 years fixing cars, i pride myself on fixing things right the first time. lol

its not under there...someone one a chat board said the ram on their equus laptop was under the keypad...any vids available for this procedure?

installed the ram..has helped..also ran cccleaner,puran defrag ,disc clean and emptied java temp files...seems about as good as a 6 year old machine with small processor can be. i thank you for everything you've done for me. i am speechless!!!!!
tomorrow i'll finish up with my work computer and report back...thank you again.
