I still can't get TDSSKiller to run. Same story, it starts for a moment and then quits very soon. I'm afraid that I am completely stumped here! I've tried different locations to put it. I've re-downloaded it. I've tried RKill first. I've tried renaming it. I've tried changing the extension. I've tried operating it via command line. The output I get from there is " 'tdskiller.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

Can you think of anything that may cause this to happen?

Thanks again for all your help!

Lets try a different tack

  • Run OTL.
  • Select All Users
  • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in

    netsvcs
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
    /md5start
    volsnap.*
    /md5stop
    %systemroot%\*. /mp /s
    CREATERESTOREPOINT

  • Click the Quick Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
  • Post both logs
