Need help with emailing attachments

I have Windows Vista, and just in the past few weeks when trying to email any sort of attachments, when I click "send" it seems to get stuck in my outbox; hence making very little or no progress to sent mail or the inbox. Also, whatever attachments that make it thru, do not make it thru completely (i.e.; the first 20 seconds of a song)...

Please help !!!!!!!
