Interchanging rows and columns using WORD2003

I have a batch of WORD tables I need to reformat so that the rows (as they now appear) become the columns and the current columns become the new rows.

Is there a "neat" way to do that or do I just have to grunt my way through?

I would appreciate any suggestions.
